Interiors juxtapose historical and contemporary elements, with stucco walls and herringbone wood floors creating a grounded atmosphere. Sculptural furniture and modern artworks introduce a fresh aesthetic, while red plaster details, inspired by the pagoda design of the Independent Monument, reinterpret traditional motifs in a modern context. This thoughtful integration allows for visitors to envisage how traditions might adapt and develop in the future, bridging the gap between decades.
The visual highlight of the store is PEDRO’s latest installation art, developed in partnership with Montreal-based Khmer artist FONKi, represents a sophisticated interplay of design and cultural symbolism. Drawing on traditional kbach—ornamental motifs found in Cambodian art and architecture—the piece reimagines classical patterns through a modern, graffiti-inspired lens. Subtle yet striking, the installation brings a sense of rhythm and fluidity to the space, reflecting a balance of tradition and urban expression while also tracing the artist’s creative journey from Montreal to his cultural roots in Cambodia.

The three distinct levels of the sculpture symbolize the interplay between modernity and ancient Khmer art, representing a continuous journey of elevation and growth. Influenced by the rich heritage of Khmer art, the dynamic energy of street culture, and the thriving spirit of contemporary Phnom Penh, ‘Elevation’ captures the essence of a city in constant transformation.
